Specs at a Glance
The Cadillac CT5-V is a variant of the luxurious CT5 sedan from Cadillac. With the CT5-V comes a more powerful engine for higher power output. The CT5-V also has sportier touches inside and out. In 2021, the CT5-V gets some new and notable features, namely upgraded technology and enhanced safety aids. For the first time, the Cadillac is now offered with SuperCruise technology, a semi-automated driving system that is tacked onto the CT5's list of safety amenities. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are newly added to the CT5-V as standard tech features. For the 2022 model year, a new variant of the CT5-V called the Blackwing comes with an even more powerful engine, some aesthetic differences on the outside, and the CT5-V's latest technology.
Performance
Although they have different engines, both the regular CT5-V and the Blackwing have impressive performance specs. The base engine for most CT5-V trim levels is a 3.0L turbo engine with six cylinders. This engine's top power rating for all trims except the Premium Luxury is 335 HP and 405 LB-FT of torque. With the Premium Luxury, you'll get a slight boost in power to 360 HP instead. Rear-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain on the Cadillac, while all-wheel drive is available. The Blackwing offers a more robust and more powerful engine capable of 650 HP. An automatic transmission is standard on the CT5-V, while you can get an automatic or manual transmission with the Blackwing.
Appearance
Both the CT5-V and the Blackwing have classy appearances with sporty touches. The base trim level of the CT5-V has chrome accents, LED lights, and 18-inch wheels at the base level, but you can upgrade to 19-inch alloy wheels instead with a distinctive polished finish. Glossy black moldings give the exterior a more elegant look. The Blackwing has carbon-fiber accents and available race stripes. A rear spoiler enhances its sporty design, and you can get performance tires as an optional item.
Features
With the CT5-V comes many notable standard items in 2021, including a nine-speaker sound system, a 10-inch touchscreen, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which is also added to the Blackwing. Dual-zone climate control is standard. Navigation and a 15-speaker Bose sound system come with the mid-level Premium Luxury trim, while the Sport gets a sporty steering wheel, sunroof, and SuperCruise. The Blackwing has carbon-fiber interior touches, suede seats, and massaging front seats.
