Specs at a Glance
The "Icon of Arrival" is how Cadillac describes the 2020 Escalade. This seems to be a fitting description for the larger-than-life SUV that has long been a staple on the US auto scene. Now, the already-large vehicle returns for yet another solid year on the market, with a commendable rating among the top five large luxury SUVs. Although the mid-tier Luxury and Premium Luxury trims do not get many updates this year, they still stand out from the crowd with impressive power credentials thanks to a V8 engine and a cavernous interior that seats up to eight. The well-equipped cabin brings along all the latest in technology and creature comforts wherever you and your passengers want to go.
Performance
The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims share the same engine, which also powers the rest of the trims in the 2020 Escalade family. This year's Escalade gets a 6.2L V8 engine with a superior power output of 420 HP and 460 LB-FT of torque. This gasoline-powered engine is connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Premium Luxury and Luxury four-wheel drive trims also have impressive towing credentials. Magnetic ride control is standard on both trim levels, while the four-wheel drive edition of the Premium Luxury trim also includes 17-inch power brakes. Heavy-duty trailering equipment that is included on both trim levels makes it easier to bring your favorite off-road toys along for a weekend adventure.
Appearance
Despite their impressive power credentials, both the 4WD Luxury and Premium Luxury trims have an overwhelmingly sophisticated, stylish, and sleek appearance. Sculpted LED headlights make both trims provide a bold first impression from the start. The Luxury and Premium Luxury both come standard with 22-inch wheels with a pearl nickel finish and chrome inserts. Both trims can also be ordered with 22-inch wheels that are produced in a variety of different finishes, including a black or ultra-bright finish. The front lights of both vehicles have a handy automatic on/off setting. Aero active shutters and acoustic laminated glass translate to a quiet and efficient ride, while black assist steps make it easier to enter and exit the vehicle. Both trims also have a hands-free liftgate.
Features
Inside, the Luxury four-wheel drive Escalade has a generous dose of amenities. This includes an eight-inch infotainment system with smartphone pairing, a panoramic backup camera with navigation, and a high-end Bose sound system with 16 speakers. This trim also has three-zone climate control and heated seats in the back row.
The Premium Luxury adds an entertainment system in the rear with Blu-ray and an overhead display. It also gets a more advanced safety system that includes reverse automatic braking, forward automatic emergency braking, collision mitigation, and a camera-based backup system. An optional Driver Awareness package can be added to both.
In 2020, the Escalade remains just as impressive as ever. Contact us to test drive the Luxury and Premium Luxury 4WD trims today.
