When Does Cadillac Plan To Be All Electric?

Cadillac plans to have all-electric vehicles by 2030, shooting for 5 years earlier than what GM is going.

First Models

The Lyriq is the first vehicle EV from Cadillac. The idea is that this will be the first of many new EV vehicles from Cadillac. The global vice president of Cadillac, Rory Harvey, has said there are now plans to make any more Cadillac vehicles with combustion engines after the Escalade SUV comes out.

The idea is for them to leave the decade as an EV brand only. There will be no more ICE or internal combustion engines by 2030; at least, that is their current plan. The idea is also that there will be 30 new EV offerings from Cadillac by 2025. This comes from a 27 billion dollar investment plan. The Lyriq will have the first new battery system called Ultium from Cadillac. There will only be one configuration available during the first year the vehicle comes out in order to make production simpler.

Same Cadillac Luxury

The plan is to keep Cadillac's famous focus on luxury while simply swapping out the ICE in order to make it an EV vehicle. The interior of the Lyriq will still have luxury options like the 33-inch diagonal LED screen, which goes across the entire viewing area for the driver. It will be rear-wheel drive, and it will have 340 horsepower. It will also have a serious range to the tune of 300 miles. Plus, the fast charger makes it possible to get 76 miles of range after just 10 minutes of charging.

This will be just the first of many new vehicles coming out from Cadillac. These vehicles will be able to travel long distances than ever before on EV engines, and it will be faster to charge them than ever before as well.
