What Does the Cadillac Symbol Mean?

The Cadillac symbol that has been featured on the front of this brand's vehicles for many years has roots all the back to 1902. Thanks to Engineer Henry Liland and businessman William Murphy, the original Cadillac symbol concept was created. The concept was a nod to 1700s French administrator Le Sieur Antoine De La Mothe Cadillac. There have been approximately 40 changes to the symbol since then, but the concept has always generally remained the same. It's a unique logo that has a lot of detail compared to other vehicle brands. The change that was made in 2014 incorporated the laurel wreath.

The Cadillac brand has been updated in the way of vehicle design and also its logo over the course of its evolution. Changes have been made to accommodate current styles and trends as needed. The original logo design with French roots eventually lost its popularity, so Cadillac responded with the most current logo style. The latest updates were made and originally featured for use on the coupe ATS and the sedan CTS.
