Many newer Cadillac models come equipped with a hands-free liftgate and power trunk that makes it easier than ever before to load and unload your vehicle. If you have this feature, you can open your power trunk or liftgate by standing about three feet from your back bumper with your key fob, kicking your leg out underneath the center of your bumper, and pulling it back.
This should trigger the sensor under your bumper and open your liftgate or trunk. You will need to kick your leg out and pull it back in one smooth motion; waving your leg from side to side under the bumper won't do it. To close the liftgate or trunk, simply repeat the process. You should keep the space around your vehicle clear, of course, but the trunk won't open or close if there is anything in its way.
If you need to adjust your liftgate height, simply select the 3/4 setting on the liftgate switch and open the liftgate as normal. Once the liftgate has reached its desired height, press the liftgate button on your key fob or touchpad to stop it. Press and hold the button again until you hear a beeping sound, and you see your turn signal lights flash.
