Cadillac night vision

The night vision feature in your Cadillac utilizes an infrared sensor that is located just behind the grille on the front end. It notices variations in temperature and can discern between an animal, person, or object. When an object is radiating more heat, it will appear much whiter than usually. This helps to alert the driver that something is coming close to your vehicle. If you’ve recently purchased a new Cadillac and aren’t quite sure how this technology feature works, read on to find out more. We want to make sure that you take advantage of everything that your new Cadillac has to offer.

You’ll want to select your night vision feature when your vehicle is parked or in forward gear. The headlights should also be turned on. Keep in mind; this feature will work best when it is dark outside. You simply select Night Vision from the instrument cluster that is in your vehicle. The instrument panel in your vehicle has the brightness control module. If anything is detected at a distance of more than 82 feet, an amber-colored box will appear around the animal or person.

An icon will also flash on your instrument panel and heads-up display (this is included in certain models). If your Night Vision technology senses that something is headed towards the front end of your vehicle at a fast pace, you will notice that the amber box changes to the color red. A red ‘Front Pedestrian Alert’ notification will flash on the windshield as well. Eight beeps will also sound if your Cadillac is equipped with this feature.

While a feature like Night Vision technology doesn’t replace a responsible driver, Night Vision can help make your driving experience much safer. It also helps keep people and animals safe while they are around your vehicle.
