In 2020, consumers won't see many changes for the Cadillac Escalade. That's because a fully redesigned vehicle is in the works for 2021. As a result, you'll find only moderate changes to the 2020 edition. There are no mechanical changes to the latest Escalade. Nor are there modifications to the model lineup. Two paint colors are deleted from the lineup this year. They are replaced by a new color (Dark Mocha Metallic) instead.
The latest Escalade has two entertainment systems – one in the front row, and one in the back. As before, the Escalade can be accessorized to your liking with a variety of dealer-installed packages and options. These packages are either standard or available depending on the trim level that you select. No matter which trim you get, you'll drive home in confidence knowing that you're getting a vehicle named a “Best Buy” from Consumer Guide for over five years.
What are the Cadillac Escalade Trims & Features?
There are four trim levels of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade, beginning with the Standard. Roof rails and a hands-free liftgate are notable amenities on this trim and the others. A 16-speaker Bose sound system is included in the base model. Both the first and second rows have heated seats, too. Wireless charging comes standard, too. The Standard also gets some standard safety features, including parking sensors and parking assistance. The Luxury trim includes more standard safety amenities. A power sunroof is standard starting with this trim. A head-up display makes it safer and easier to use the infotainment system.
Next in line is the Premium Luxury. It has an even longer list of standard safety features. Its exterior is distinguished by several notable elements, including front cornering lights and illuminated door handles. Along with the standard infotainment system, this trim gets a nine-inch entertainment screen in the back row. The top trim level features massaging seats that move in 18 ways. It also gets a leather-encased instrument panel, center console, and leather accents on the upper trims of the doors. Long road trips are no problem with the cooler built into the center console that keeps food and beverages cold. Cushioned suede microfiber material lines the door pillar trim and the headliner.
Cadillac Escalade Safety
Each trim level comes with a generous array of safety features. Standard safety amenities on the base trim include front and rear parking assistance, automatic parking sensors, and a surround vision camera. Successive trim levels add intelligent headlamps, forward collision warning, lane change alert, side blind zone monitoring, and lane-keep assist with lane departure warning.
Adaptive cruise control is standard, and the top trim levels also get enhanced automatic emergency braking, which brings the car to a stop if it senses an object right in your path of travel. Automatic emergency braking is standard in reverse on the upper two trim levels as well. Seat belts and airbags for the driver and all occupants are standard on all trim levels of the Escalade. You can add safety features to most trims, even if they are not standard.
